TLB 026 One Word by Gordon, Britton and Page

“One Word” by Jon Gordon, Dan Britton and Jimmy Page could possibly be the most impactful book I have ever read. That is if I do what it says and follow the process. Time will tell. Watch the video or listen to the audio… Grab your self a copy of “OneWord”, and see for yourself!

Hey, Frank here, with One Bold Move in The Leader’s Bookshelf. I want to hit you with a book that I just finished reading. It’s called One Word That Will Change Your Life, written by John Gordon, Dan Britton and Jimmy Page. I don’t think that is the Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin, though that would be kind of cool. At any rate, this book is such a small book, a simple read. It’s 99, 100 pages even, and it’s a really quick read. It’s kind of hard for me to review because I think that the proof is going to be in the pudding. This book prescribes something that I think we all need, and that is … Well, if you think back, think about last January 1st, the New Year’s resolutions that you made, the goals that that you set. Did you keep those resolutions? Did you keep those goals all year long? If not, why? Potentially because they were a little over-complicated, they were something that you just had to think about all the time to really accomplish.

This book, I think … I believe, and the proof will be in the pudding because I’m going to put this to the test. But I believe that this book could be, has the potential to be, the most life-changing book that I’ve ever read. The whole concept with the one word is that instead of trying to remember all these goals, instead of trying to remember all of these resolutions, go through this process. They really lay out an entire process in this book. They talk about how it works, why it works, and how to put this thing to the test and go through this process to really drill down and come up with one word for your life for this next year.

I found myself, as I was reading this, kind of already dreaming up a word and already a word was coming to mind. But then there’s a whole process about how you just kind of need to go through this process to really empty your mind and to really open yourself up. Open your mind. Open your heart and really grab that one word that is meant specifically just for you for this next year. There’s six dimensions that this word can impact, or should impact. That’s your spiritual, your physical, your emotional, your relational, your mental, and your financial. It should have impact in all those areas.

I’m going to go through the process of this book. I’m going to do what it says. I’m going to take some time. I’m going to reflect. I’m going to meditate. I’m going to pray. I’m going to really open my heart, open my mind to what that word is for me for the next year. I would encourage you to pick this book up and give it a read and see what your word is for this next year. Go grab a copy of One Word That Will Change Your Life by John Gordon, Dan Britton and Jimmy Page, not the Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin. See what it’ll do for you.
I’d love to hear back, see what the impact of this was. I’m sure that over the year, as I’m working through this one particular word, I’ll write some blog posts and stuff on this and really keep coming back to this, whatever my one word turns out to be.
There you have it. Hey, until next time, keep turning those pages. Have a great one.
